POSITION SUMMARY:

Responsible for providing overall strategic leadership to Childhelp in the areas of grant funding, government appropriations, and the planned giving program. The Vice President, Sustained Giving is a member of the senior leadership team.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

•Develops and effectively monitors a national, comprehensive public sector and foundation grant strategy for Childhelp
•Develops and negotiates strategic government and public sector partnerships, including related memorandums of understanding or other agreements defining the implementation plan, expected outcomes, and roles and responsibilities for these partnerships, as directed
•Directs and manages Childhelp’s grant acquisition activities and staff, ensuring compliance and reporting commitments are met in concert with program and financial leadership
•Responsible for ensuring that grant revenue goals are met or exceeded
•Manages the planned giving program, including bequests
•Designs innovative strategies to identify and cultivate planned giving prospects and donors, including a monitoring system to maximize program results
•Represents Childhelp with key external constituencies, including leaders from local, state, and national government, business, academia, and other non-profit organizations and associations, as appropriate
•Works closely with the Executive Director in preparing presentation materials, and in presenting information, as appropriate, for the Board of Directors
•Performs other related duties, as assigned

Skills / Requirements
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

•Bachelor’s Degree in related field required, Master’s Degree in related field preferred
•Minimum 10+ years experience in a fundraising management capacity
•Excellent communication, analytical, facilitation, and collaboration skills
•Proven ability to cultivate and develop prospects and to secure funding
•Knowledge of business process modeling techniques and strategic applications
•Ability to create and maintain highest levels of confidentiality when dealing with proprietary information and sensitive situations
