Jobing Description
The Association for Supportive Child Care�s (ASCC) Arizona Kith and Kin Project is looking for an energetic, self-starter to join our team and work to improve the lives of children and families in Arizona. The Arizona Kith and Kin Project provides training to improve the quality and safety of children in the care of family, friends and neighbors. These trainings include topics such as Discipline and Guidance, Language and Literacy, Nutrition, Brain Development, Parent/Caregiver Relationships, Home/Environment Safety and others.

The Arizona Kith and Kin Project has a full-time, 40 hour per week, position available for a Kith and Kin Specialist. The Kith and Kin Specialist will assist the Program Coordinator in the successful implementation of program operations, including, but not limited to: organizing and maintaining the activity of the program, training delivery through a training/support group model, data gathering and preparation of all necessary program reports and contracts as assigned. This position will require travel within the Maricopa County area to conduct outreach and trainings as scheduled. Diverse candidates are encouraged to apply.

The Kith and Kin Specialist will assist with the maintenance of the inventory of supplies, materials, equipment, records and files. The Specialist will conduct outreach activities as requested, work with identified community partners, identify and recruit potential kith and kin providers who demonstrate an interest in the program and deliver related trainings to groups and/or individual participants.


Skills / Requirements
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Minimum of a BA degree in Child Development, Early Childhood, or a related field (AA degree and eight years of related work experience such as, high quality family child care and child care center settings, group facilitator, mentor, etc. may be substituted for educational background).
2. Maintain an Arizona Driver's License and have reliable transportation.
3. Linguistically and Culturally Diverse.
4. The ability to obtain the Child Passenger Safety (CPS) certification, CPR/FA trainer certification and any others as needed.
5. Excellent organizational skills.
6. Knowledge of child care field and an understanding of the needs of young children and families.
7. The ability to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing.
8. Working knowledge of data entry, typing and computers.
9. Knowledge of community resources and map reading skills.
10. The ability to work independently and as a member of a team.
11. The ability to work cooperatively with other staff members and the community in a positive manner.

Comfortable speaking in front of groups of twenty or more
Position hours-8:30 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday through Friday
Position available immediately
Hourly rate: $14 -16 p/hour
