Job: Computer Network Specialist

Performs technical work of considerable difficulty in the installation, configuration and troubleshooting of computer networks and associated assemblies; conducts system feasibility studies and designs network systems; designs, modifies and implements database; establishes network users, user environment, directories and security for networks being installed; evaluates computer hardware are system level software; installs, upgrades and configure network printing, directory structures, rights, security and software on file servers; Installs and maintains network cabling and fiber; performs network troubleshooting to isolate and diagnose common network problems; provides users with network technical support responds to the needs and questions of users concerning their access of resources on the network; upgrades network hardware and software as required; conducts surveys and feasibility studies; conducts user training, develop procedures for system users; performs related work as required or assigned.ed.

Required Qualifications
H.S./G.E.D. Twenty (20) semester hours post high school course work in computer science, management information systems or related field and three (3) years of progressively responsible work experience in network management, application and system management including one (1) year of analysis and one (1) year of data base; or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience which demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position. Must successfully pass a background investigation with no felony convictions


Preferred Qualifications
Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE) and Cicso Certified Network Associate (CCNA) preferred.

This specific position will design and manage Active Directory, group policies and scripting. Manage VMware server infrastructure, maintain backups and images. Configure and manage HP servers. Configure and manage 2008/2003 serves on the network. Understand and use their expertise in TCP/IP. Design and manage network hardware, systems-level Wide Area Network and LANs. Maintain and provide security on servers, routers and firewalls. Provide technical advice as required for system planning as well as perform other related duties as assigned.
