Holsum Bakery is seeking an experienced Production Team Leader (Supervisor) for our Phoenix Bakery.

Purpose Statement:
The job of Team Leader (Supervisor)- Production is done for the purpose/s of supervising, directing, designing and organizing assigned production processes and/or areas in a manner that ensures the achievement of assigned production goals of product quality and customer satisfaction while maintaining set production budget and timeline(s).

Essential Functions:
- Assists in the development and implementation of assigned safety training activities for the purpose of ensuring that department personnel are able to achieve company and customer quality, consistency and quantity goals in a safe manner.

- Assists in the interviewing and selection of department staff as needed and/or assigned for the purpose of ensuring that all new employees have the capacity to perform selected job(s) and have the desire and drive to grow professionally.

- Communicates with administrators and department personnel for the purpose of directing activities, resolving issues and conflicts and exchanging information.

- Develops and implements safe, efficient and effective work processes for the purpose of receiving "SUPERIOR" ratings in assigned work area(s) when audited by customer-related and/or regulatory agencies.

- Directs the day to day activities and operations of assigned production process(s) (e.g. develops schedules, monitors work activities, leads and guides assigned department staff, etc.) for the purpose of ensuring that production goals are met in compliance with all relevant company Process Operating Guides (POG's).

- Inspects assigned production processes and/or work areas for the purpose of ensuring that product quality and consistency meets all company and customer requirements.

- Leads assigned department employees in reducing non-value added work and/or waste for the purpose of ensuring that company and customer goals are met as quickly, efficiently and inexpensively as possible.

- Participates in meetings, workshops and seminars for the purpose of conveying and/or gathering information required to perform functions.

- Prepares a variety of reports, records and/or files related to assigned activities and personnel for the purpose of documenting activities and/or conveying information.

- Recognizes employees who exhibit exceptional performance in quality, efficiency and/or safety for the purpose of enhancing corporate culture and providing positive reinforcement to employees who are helping to meet and/or exceeding company and customer goals.

- Recommends long-term and short-term plans, process improvements and/or training actions for the purpose of meeting company and customer goals in a more effective and/or efficient manner.

- Responds to emergency situations for the purpose of resolving immediate production and/or safety concerns.

- Supports the company administration, policies and procedures for the purpose of providing assistance with administrative functions and ensuring that company goals and objectives are met.

Other Functions:
- Performs other related duties, as assigned, for the purpose of ensuring the efficient and effective functioning of the work unit.

Skills, Knowledge and Abilities

SKILLS are required to perform single, technical tasks with a need to occasionally upgrade skills in order to meet changing job conditions. Specific skills required to satisfactorily perform the functions of the job include: adhering to legal statutes and organizational rules; operating equipment used in industrial bakeries; preparing and maintaining accurate records; using pertinent software applications; communication; decision making/judgment; problem solving/analysis; and scheduling.

KNOWLEDGE is required to perform algebra and/or geometry; read technical information, compose a variety of documents, and/or facilitate group discussions; and solve practical problems. Specific knowledge required to satisfactorily perform the functions of the job includes: Knowledge of industry bakery equipment processes; health and safety standards and hazards as they relate to industrial bakeries; budgeting/cost control; business goals; and job/technical knowledge.

ABILITY is required to schedule a number of activities, meetings, and/or events; gather, collate, and/or classify data; and consider a number of factors when using equipment. Flexibility is required to work with others in a wide variety of circumstances; analyze data utilizing defined but different processes; and operate equipment using a variety of standardized methods. Ability is also required to work with a diversity of individuals and/or groups; work with a variety of data; and utilize a variety of job-related equipment. In working with others, problem solving is required to analyze issues and create action plans. Problem solving with data requires independent interpretation of guidelines; and problem solving with equipment is moderate. Specific abilities required to satisfactorily perform the functions of the job include: displaying mechanical aptitude; dependability; adaptability/flexibility; leadership; managing for results; quality; and results focus.

Responsibility
Responsibilities include: working under limited supervision using standardized practices and/or methods; leading, guiding, and/or coordinating others; and operating within a defined budget. Utilization of some resources from other work units is often required to perform the job's functions. There is a continual opportunity to impact the Organization's services.

Working Environment
The usual and customary methods of performing the job's functions require the following physical demands: some lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling; some climbing and balancing; some stooping, kneeling, crouching, and/or crawling; and significant fine finger dexterity. Generally the job requires 20% sitting, 30% walking, and 50% standing. The job is performed under some temperature extremes and a generally hazard free environment.

Experience- Job related experience with increasing levels of responsibility is required.

Education- Targeted job related education that meets organization's prerequisite requirements.
