Jokake Construction is a relationship-based general contracting and construction

Jokake is deeply entrenched in the Arizona construction market with 100 full-time owner/employees, 20+ year relationship with subcontractors, and is widely recognized for our commitment to partnerships and our client-driven approach to building. We are currently looking for a Public Sector Superintendent. The Superintendent is responsible for all field operations of a project. Responsibilities include safety, assisting with the development of subcontractor scopes of work, managing self-performing labor force, and creating and updating master CPM project schedules. Additionally, the superintendent will be accountable for maintaining general condition costs, managing subcontractor quality and schedule performance, controlling Jokake’s site quality control program and maintaining daily updates of superintendent daily reports, and other project tracking logs. Skills / Requirements
Experience Requirements:
1. Four year Bachelor of Science degree in civil, mechanical or electrical engineering or construction management from accredited university. 2. 5 plus year experience as lead superintendent or lead project manager for a major commercial general contractor. 3. Experience in the past 24 months in building K-12, higher education or municipal projects as the lead superintendent for a general contractor. 4. Experience in building projects $15M or larger. 5. LEED AP preferred, LEED training Required. 6. Advanced skill set in creating CPM schedules with multiple scheduling software products. 7. Experience in construction surveying and site/building layout. 8. Experience in taking a project from mobilization to closeout. 9. Aviation building experience is preferred. 10. Advanced computer skills, including the creation of Excel spreadsheets. 11. Experience in the development and management of a quality assurance and control program. Technical Competencies: 1. Thorough understanding of exterior waterproofing systems and exterior skin systems including metal panel, precast, cast-in-place concrete, masonry, various glazed systems including curtain wall and storefront systems, as wells as various roofing solutions. 2. Strong understanding of design concepts of mechanical systems and controls including central plant equipment. First hand experience troubleshooting mechanical systems, controls, and balancing issues. 3. Experience being directly responsible for MEP coordination on projects must be capable of MPE design review & verify layout. 4. Must be capable of verifying concrete form layout per design drawings. 5. Establish weekly job site subcontractor meetings to review upcoming Scope, Labor Force, & schedule review 6. Complete Safety Check Lists, Infection Control Plans, and Pre-construction Task Plans. 7. Document Subcontractor Requests for Field Work Orders, & keep log. 8. Document Requests for Information and keep log. 9. Review drawings and plans and have a clear understand of details and finishes. 10. Document daily Supervision reports with the appropriate events of the day. 11. Complete special reports and/or forms required by the owner (i.e., Infection control surveys, system shutdown requests, heat, smoke and/or dust permit, etc.). 12. Continually inspect and verify subcontractor’s installations of materials / product to insure quality. 13. Verify existing conditions of project and note inconsistencies/damages to PM. 14. Responsible for timely completion of punch list. 15. Review job cost reports as required. 16. Close out project in a timely manner, including all final inspections, as-builts drawings and any other relative information. Departmental Competencies: 1.
