The Project Coordinator will work with and under the general direction and supervision of the Project Director to plan and carry out project activities. The Project Coordinator will be responsible for the outreach and technical assistance to the Mentoring Project site (Apollo Middle School).
IMPORTANT NOTE: This is a federally funded program that REQUIRES a Bachelor's Degree. State law also requires a fingerprint clearance card with Identity Verified Prints. If you do not have these two items in place, please do not apply. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: • Implement the mentoring program strategies. • Develop and maintain the mentoring programming. • Develop and implement a marketing strategy for the dissemination of the prevention strategies in the target area. • Market each of the prevention strategies within the target area. • Conduct project orientation, community outreach, and recruitment • Recruit, Train and Retain Mentors and Mentees for the mentoring program • Assist with evaluation activities of the project and participates in instrument development. • Conduct and/or assist staff in conducting training and technical assistance. • Oversee the development of the documentation of the consensus building and decision making process. • Prepare monthly and quarterly reports and other program documentation as needed. • Responsible for the development and maintenance of record keeping system. • Oversee data information dissemination activities. • Identify project consultants for specialized services (such as videotaping). • Responsible for the development of brochures, monthly newsletter, flyers, etc. • Organize non-alcoholic cultural events in the targeted area • Other duties as assigned by the Director of Match Support. ABILITIES AND KNOWLEDGE: • Have expert knowledge of mentoring program policies and procedures • Strong working knowledge of prevention practices and programs. • Knowledge of prevention models including risk and protective factors and underage best practices. • Ability to work with at-risk and Latino populations • Computer proficient in Microsoft Office applications • Bilingual in English and Spanish. Skills / Requirements
QUALIFICATIONS:
• Bachelor’s degree in education, social science, public administration or related field. • Minimum of three years of work experience in prevention or treatment services. • Three to five years work experience in non-profit sectors. • Ability to read, write, analyze and interpret complex documents. Important Notes
Must submit to pre-employment Drug Test and have a valid Fingerprint Clearance Card based on Identity Verified Fingerprints. Must have a current valid AZ Drivers License. Must provide a drivers report from the AZ Dept. of Transportation.
