Job Summary
Responsible for performing lead technical, administrative and professional assignments in the coordination and analysis of Networking (routing/switching/wireless), Security (firewalls/proxies/DIACAP), Load Balancing, and Voice services (VoIP desktop and contact center) within TriWest. Working in a converged voice, video and data environment, this position will include stewardship of leading-edge Cisco routing, switching, security, load balancing, desktop voice and enterprise contact center voice technology platforms across 21 states, 95+ locations, and 8 call centers housing a total of 600 agents. Responsible for expert analysis/ troubleshooting, system & network monitoring of all Cisco technology solutions, day to day maintenance and support as required. Leads support efforts for various hardware, software, and equipment issues and problems, as well as service or maintenance for the various communications equipment and systems.
Key Responsibilities
o Installs and maintains voice and network systems and equipment. Ensures systems performance meets business needs and objectives.
o Executes complex tasks and resolves escalated complex support issues.
o Serves as a voice technical resource and subject matter expert. Serves as technical resource for the resolution of moderate to complex routing, switching, load balancer, security and voice-related problems.
o Leads collaboration with users, vendors, and other TriWest technical staff members on the identification, isolation and correction of problems as well as enhancements in the voice, video and network systems.
o Leads and mentors less experience Communications Engineers by providing formal and informal knowledge regarding the use of new and existing technologies and firm processes.
o Leads efforts to define and develop cost effective communications solutions/enhancements which optimize the balance between business needs and communications equipment/software capabilities to include: researching, performing cost benefit analysis, recommending and gaining commitments.
o Leads development and implementation of best practices, policies, processes and procedures for the Communications Team as well as the enterprise.
o Consistently follows standard change management processes and ensures less experience engineers do the same. Documents and evaluates impact of required changes to the various networked systems. Plans, schedules and communicates changes.
o Interfaces with departments regarding communications issues.
o Performs other duties as assigned.
Skills / Requirements
Education & Experience
Required:
o Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business or related field or equivalent experience.
o 10 years experience with telephone systems/software, system servers and data networking.
o 5 years experience working in a Cisco converged voice, video and data environment utilizing current Cisco routing, switching, security and load balancing technologies.
o 5 years experience working in a Cisco voice environment utilizing UCM, UCCE and CVP technologies.
o Enterprise-level call center experience utilizing Cisco's UCM, UCCE and CVP technologies.
o Experience analyzing operations, coordinating and carrying out special projects from planning through implementation and support.
o One of the following Cisco certifications: Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA),
Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP), or Cisco Certified Internetwork Expert (CCIE)
Preferred:
o Cisco Certified Internetwork Expert (CCIE)

Technical Skills: Advanced knowledge of routing and switching theories/protocols required; advanced knowledge of TCP/IP, BGP,EIGRP,CDP,SNMP V3, H.323, SIP, HTTP, DWDM, T1, DS3, OC3, OC12, etc.
DoD Statement
