ORGANIZATION PHILOSOPHY: Family Service Agency is a non-profit Behavioral Health organization that provides services and advocates for, strengthens, and preserves the individual and the family. POSITION SUMMARY: We are currently hiring a FULL-TIME FAMILY SUPPORT WORKER for our Family Preservation Program to serve families throughout the Valley. We are seeking an individual with compassion, dedication and a positive and team-player attitude.

This position requires the Family Support Worker to provide in-home services in a team. Full-time position has mileage reimbursement, paid time off, flexible hours, and accessibility to work from home. The position also requires reliable transportation to attend weekly client visits.

REQUIRED AT TIME OF HIRE:
* Valid driver's license
* Current auto insurance
* Reliable transportation
* Current CPR and First Aid certifications
* Current Fingerprint Clearance Card

SPECIFIC DUTIES/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Responsible for team support of the Team Lead as a Family Support Worker to provide services to DES-referred families requiring Family Preservation services. Must be available to provide services during evenings and weekends to accommodate the needs of the family, and must be accessible to families by telephone or pager twenty-four (24) hours per day, seven (7) days per week for emergencies.

Skills / Requirements

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
REQUIRED
A Bachelor's degree in Social Work or closely related field, or an Associate's degree with one year of Human Service experience, or a high school diploma with four years of Human Service training/experience.

PHYSICAL
REQUIREMENTS: Speaking, hearing, seeing, sitting, standing, keyboarding, and driving.

SPECIFIC SKILLS REQUIRED:
* Ability to facilitate communication and negotiation skills and teach parenting, home management, and coping skills
* Knowledge and understanding of Family Systems Theory; Family Centered Practice; family dynamics; shared parenting; and treatment philosophies of family-based services
* Ability to relate well with families of varied lifestyles, backgrounds and ethnicities
* Knowledge of and ability to access community resources; and experience in cultural diversity, substance abuse, domestic violence, crisis intervention, effects of child abuse and neglect on child development, sexual abuse, and medication and other interventions
* Responsible for coordination of services at the direction of the Team Lead
* A good understanding of case management and community resources
* Good verbal and written communication and grammatical skills
* Ability to work as a team member in a team environment
