Desktop Support Analyst

The ASU Foundation for A New American University (ASUF) raises, invests and manages private funds to benefit Arizona State University. Additionally, the foundation serves as the university‚s entrepreneurial arm in technology commercialization, real estate investment and other emerging initiatives. One of Arizona‚s oldest 501(c)(3) organizations, the foundation helps advance the challenges before us.

The systems and infrastructure team is tasked with the maintenance and enhancement of the ASU Foundation‚s technology environment. This work falls into seven major work areas: end user workstation support, server support, infrastructure support, handheld support, A/V support, helpdesk support and training support.

The desktop support analyst will assist in the support of all seven support areas, with a primary focus on server support, infrastructure support and end user workstation support.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

* Perform server application support
* Configure and install server and network hardware and software
* Perform on and off site data backup, remote system monitoring and active directory management
* IP Address Management
* Complete and track work in the problem and project tracking systems
* Provide help desk support by answering phones, entering tickets and projects
* Complete new system setups, system replacements and software and hardware maintenance and installation
* Perform OS upgrades
* Provide A/V support (loaners, conference rooms and maintenance)
* Provide support for handheld devices
* Assist in end user training on new equipment and software
* Communicate to management and end-users in meaningful and understandable terms
* Facilitate communication and collaboration among diverse groups at all levels of the organization

* Skill in preparing presentations and various database applications
* Ability to identify creative solutions and use appropriate technology to provide most effective results
* Knowledge of server operating systems (Windows Server 2003, 2008, 2008 R2)
* Familiarity with data backup procedures and applications
* Familiarity with datacenter operating environments
* Knowledge of workstation operating systems (Windows XP, Windows Vista, Windows 7, OS X)
* Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
* Familiarity with other business software
* Knowledge of desktop, laptop and server hardware
* Familiarity with audio visual equipment
* Familiarity with Blackberries and other Smart Phones
* Ability to work flexible hours, including some evenings and weekends

EDUCATION/QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor's degree in technology or related field AND four (4) years directly related information technology services experience; OR, any equivalent combination of experience and/or education from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have been achieved.
