In early 1985, Ron Shurts founded Shurwest Financial Group with his close friend and business associate Mark West. With a combined 25 years of field experience to draw on, they knew they could build a company a brand new way: from the producer’s perspective. From the start, they focused on three concepts:

I. Building solid relationships with producers;     II. Creating a new customer service model that put the producer’s needs ahead of a carrier’s, and;     III. Developing new products and innovative marketing concepts that would help our producers become more successful.

Building Relationships

The key to our continued success for the last nineteen years has been our unwavering focus on creating strong one-on-one relationships with producers who want to be treated with respect and want great service. What does this really mean? It means that a producer may initially work with us because of a particular product, but they continue to work with us over the years because they like doing business with us. Our efforts have been rewarded through the consistent level of repeat business we’ve enjoyed from thousands of producers, CPAs, and attorneys throughout the country.

Redefining Customer Service

Saying that you provide “excellent customer service” has almost become meaningless. Knowing this, we set out to create a customer service model that was fundamentally different from every financial company we had encountered:

We Handle the Home Office   Our model removes the typical “home office” bureaucratic quagmire from the picture entirely. Rather than simply pass you off to a remote, warehouse-sized call center for product or service support—like most other financial service providers—our customer service begins and ends with a single phone call to Shurwest.     No Voice Mail   Customer service is effective only through person-to-person contact. As such, we steadfastly refuse to use voicemail during business hours. Call Shurwest Financial Group and a real person will answer the phone by the second ring!     We Know Your Business   When you call us, your call is answered by someone you’ve talked to before, who not only knows your business and is familiar with your needs, but also can confidently answer your questions and promptly resolve any issues that you or your client may have.     We Work When You Do   Our hours of operation are from 6:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. (PST).
