Services Through Job Corps Centers

Job Corps is a residential, educational and training program for unemployed and undereducated youth ages 16 - 24. Administered by the United States Department of Labor, Job Corps includes educational and vocational training. Job Corps operates 24 hours a day, seven days a week, to offer students from disruptive environments the stability and support needed to positively transform their lives. Job Corps' academic and vocational training programs offer self-paced courses that meet individual needs and provide the skills necessary for graduates to successfully enter the workforce, continue their education or serve their country in the military. Students benefit from computer-managed instruction and training in more than 100 vocational fields.

Under the federally funded Job Corps program sponsored by the Department of Labor, students can receive comprehensive basic education programs, including reading, math, GED, career training in a number of specialized fields, health education and parenting; social skills training; counseling; student government and leadership programs; meals, lodging, and clothing; and post-program job placement and support.

The Phoenix Job Corp is operated by ResCare.  ResCare is a human service company supporting people with developmental and other disabilities, youth with special needs, adults experiencing barriers to employment and older people in their homes.
