Profile: Minority and Small Business Alliance of Southern Arizona

Since 1983, the U.S. President has proclaimed a National Minority Business Enterprises (MBEs) Week observance to recognize the outstanding achievements of MBEs and to honor those corporations and/or financial institutions that support minority business development.

In keeping with this national celebration Tucson hosts an annual Minority Enterprise Development Week, (MED Week), to honor and recognize the diligent efforts of minority-owned firms in Southern Arizona.  Each year the Minority and Small Business Alliance hosts a gala luncheon that presents scholarships to students with an interest in attending college, and recognizes the outstanding local businesses of the year.
