Phoenix Children's Hospital is Arizona's only hospital dedicated to children. For the past two decades, we have been recognized for excellence and innovation in pediatric medicine. Phoenix Children's is a regional referral center for children with chronic and life-threatening illnesses. At a total of 307 beds, Phoenix Children's Hospital is among the 10 largest children's hospitals in the nation. Nearly half our beds are devoted to critical care for patients suffering from trauma and acute illness, or who have had complex surgeries. Phoenix Children's Hospital has several departments and speciality areas including:
- A Pediatric Emergency Department that features 30 rooms; two trauma bays, 14 acute treatment rooms, eight observation rooms and six fast-track rooms.
- The Southwest's largest Level III NICU provides services on both our Thomas and McDowell campuses. We boast one of the highest neonatal survival rates in the nation because of the care provided by experts in this special high-tech nursery.
- Five specially equipped operating rooms with the capacity to expand to eight.
- A pre-procedural area to provide a calming environment where patients and their families can wait for surgeries or procedures.
- The Valley's first pediatric blood and marrow transplant (BMT) programs. Families will no longer have to face the additional stress of having to take their children out of the Valley for treatment.
- Continuum of care is offered through our Outpatient Specialty Care Centers in Phoenix, Mesa, Scottsdale, and Glendale.
As we grow and advance, Phoenix Children's Hospital remains focused on an incredibly important mission -- to bring hope, healing and the best care for children and their families.
