Current Arizona Job Openings at International Genomics Consortium - IGC
About IGC
The mission of IGC is to revolutionize the treatment and prevention of cancer and complex diseases by rigorously developing and applying post-genome science to advances in human health.
The International Genomics Consortium (IGC) is a non-profit medical research organization established to expand upon the discoveries of the Human Genome Project and other systematic sequencing efforts by combining world-class genomic research, bioinformatics and diagnostic technologies in the fight against cancer and other complex diseases. A collaborative group including leading pharmaceutical, computational medical technology companies, scientists, foundations and internationally recognized academic research institutions have pulled together to support IGC and its goals. These parties are playing a key role in IGC's ongoing development as an optimal, natural utility serving numerous common, unmet needs:
* Establish and augment national standards for consent, tissue collection, clinical annotation, molecular analysis and representation of data.
* Create large, clinically annotated public databases for major diseases.
* Optimize utilization of IGC created public databases and resources.
* Accelerate the discovery of targets for therapy, prognosis, and diagnosis.
* Create opportunities for the formation of spin-off companies to empower and accelerate the mission of IGC.
* Enable these databases to evolve and to progressively compound their value.
* Transition genomic discoveries from bench to bedside to improve patient care.
