Blog Post: Domestic Violence: Serious Topic, Serious Discussion
posted Tuesday, March 11, 2008 7:50 PM
The alumni chapter of ASU’s School of Criminology and Criminal Justice will host a very important panel discussion on the response of law enforcement to domestic violence issues from 6 to 8 p.m., Tuesday, March 25, in the LaSala A & B ballrooms of the UCB building at ASU’s West campus, located at 4701 W. Thunderbird Rd., Phoenix.
“System Alert: Arizona’s Criminal Justice Response to Domestic Violence” will feature commentary and insights from Bill Hart and Richard Toon, senior policy analysts at ASU’s Morrison Institute for Public Policy; Judge Ellie Finn, presiding judge of Glendale’s Municipal Court; Phoenix Police Commander Kim Humphrey; and Leah Meyers of the Governor's Office on Women’s Issues. The discussion will be moderated by Phoenix ’s District 5 Councilman Claude Mattox. This event is expected to draw a wide variety of attendees from the criminal justice and social services fields and promises to be an excellent place to take part in the discussion on this important issue, as well as meet potential employers or networking contacts. More information on the event is available here, and you can learn more about the School of Criminology and Criminal Justice’s alumni chapter at their Web page.
