It’s that time of year again—time to show your appreciation for your “geek in shining armor.” July 31st is Tucson System Administrator Appreciation Day, a special day to recognize the person responsible for keeping networks running, filtering SPAM from email inboxes, and resetting your forgotten passwords.
Nextrio, a professional IT consulting firm, is celebrating Sys Admin Day with a contest to honor Tucson’s best System Administrator. Tucson area businesses can submit nominations for their favorite IT professional through July 29th . Entry forms can be submitted by co-workers, managers, or other office personnel, and are available at www.TucsonSysAdmin.com. The winner will be chosen by a panel of independent judges and notified on Friday, July 31st . This year’s judges are: Tammy Farris, Associate Director of Corporate Outreach at the University of Arizona Eller College of Management, Rebecca Maloney, System Administrator for Westland Resources and 2008 winner of Tucson Sys Admin Day, and Chris Patten, CTO of Cyracom. The winning nominee will receive a $500 American Express gift card, and his/her nominator will receive a $100 American Express gift card courtesy of Nextrio. More information on this contest, including the nomination form, is available at www.TucsonSysAdmin.com.
