Blog Post: Grants Available for the Unemployed

posted Friday, April 24, 2009 3:01 PM

Chandler-Gilbert Community College, in partnership with Gatlin Education, offers online training courses that can be completed in as little as 6 months. Please visit www.gatlineducation.com/cgc to see what courses might be of benefit to your career or re-employment plan. All Gatlin Education courses are also listed on AZ HEAT (http://www.ade.az.gov/arizonaHEAT/), Arizona’s Statewide Eligible Training Provider Website. In addition to course listings, this Website provides an annual compilation of performance data that presents specific information about the success of each training program.

If you are a recently separated veteran, been laid off or are coping with other barriers to re-employment, you may benefit from high-value, no-charge job search assistance provided by local One-Stop Career Centers. Services provided at the local One-Stop Career Centers are provided through funding under the Workforce Investment Act. Start the process by attending a Career Center Orientation. Visit www.maricopaworkforceconnection.com, to find the Career Center nearest you. You may be eligible for WIA training assistance; Center Orientations will provide an overview of eligibility and explain the process of accessing Center services.

Today’s environment provides tremendous opportunity to get the training you need to become a valuable employee.  If you have any questions feel free to call Chandler-Gilbert Community College, Center for Workforce Development at 480.732.7080 and ask for Judy
