Blog Post: Last Call to Support Education & Tomorrow's Workforce at Experience Your Future Day
posted Wednesday, April 15, 2009 8:25 PM
What do you get when you mix 100 exhibitors, 7000 8th grade students, 55 schools, 4 school districts, and more than 50 volunteers? Experience Your Future Day presented by the Jobing Foundation! And exhibitors have just a couple days left to get involved in being a part of the solution.
A small investment of your time can make a difference. Arizona has one of the highest drop our rates in the country. The United States is rated 23rd in the world in science, technology, engineering and math education. Only 1 out of 3 advanced science and math degrees from US universities is awarded to US citizens. That means we're loosing that talent for the long run. Our education system needs your support, our students need your support... and the long term health of your organization needs this talent. Is that worth four hours of your time? On April 30th, 7000 8th graders will descend upon the University of Phoenix Stadium to learn about future careers. Set up similar to a job fair, the students will be visiting employers and educators to learn what it will take to succeed. Share your vision, share your knowledge of your industry and your organization. Register by Monday, April 20th for guaranteed placement. Exhibitors are arranged into industry pavilions. After April 20th, space may still be available. However, placement may not be available in your preferred location. Register online at www.ExperienceYourFuture.org or contact Vicki Steere, Executive Director at 602.795.2787 or vicki@jobingfoundation.org for more information. Volunteers are still needed too!
