Blog Post: How you can help others and help yourself $$$

Do you hate paying taxes? Perfect, because you can give yourself a tax credit and give a non-profit a boost in what they need $$$. The State of Arizona allows individuals and couples to donate up to $200 each or $400 per couple to non-profits that meet the needs of the working poor in the state.
This means if you owe state taxes (and meet the guidelines for the donor credit) you can donate to Unlimited Potential www.unlimitedpotentaialaz.org and we will give you a donation slip stating that you donated towards the tax credit for the working poor and then on your state taxes you can deduct the amount of your donation off of what you owe DOLLAR FOR DOLLAR! This differs from the Federal Tax deduction but any donation to a registered non-profit will also be eligible for your federal taxes as well. I will add a LARGE DISCLAIMER: consult your tax preparer before you choose to donate if you have any questions! Or contact the nice people at the IRS is an option too... So if it works out that you can donate, please do it now! We are just about to start back to school with our classes and money is tight. It may not seem like $200 goes a long way but when you have several people all donating at once it all adds up to help meet the bottom line. Remember. this is a way our government has set up for non-profits to get private donations while serving the needy people in the community and giving the public a tax break; A WIN-WIN situation for everyone! Thank you for your generosity... Tags
