Blog Post: Some good news from CBS 5's Cara Liu

posted Wednesday, July 16, 2008 2:44 PM

One of the great pleasures of my job is working with local media to develop stories that help educate the public on employment and provide advice for job seekers.  Such was the case last night on CBS 5 during the 10PM news.  My new friend Cara Liu, an evening reporter for CBS, wanted to do a story that would help people who are looking for a job because she learned that in spite of the negative economic headlines from national media, there are plenty of jobs in the Valley right now.  She called Jobing.com because she knew she could easily get in touch with a real live person and we were happy to help.  What Cara reminds us is that there are thousands of jobs available all across the Valley in a variety of industries; no matter what kind of job you seek, you can find a lot of timely job openings right now and she shares some of the companies with lots of current openings.  To watch Cara’s story, go to http://www.kpho.com/video/16898670/

If you are interested in one of the companies Cara mentions in the story, visit the company profile page on our site for videos, information, and all of the open job postings:

Banner Healthcare

Dish Network

CDW Corporation

Sheraton Hotels

Mayo Clinic

Dunkin Donuts

UPS

Safeway

AT&T

Progressive Insurance

Thanks to CBS 5 for doing a story that highlights some good economic news- that there are hundreds of Valley companies waiting for you to apply.

This week Jobing.com hosted the monthly meeting of the Alliance of Technology and Women. Besides having one of the largest turnouts for their monthly meeting, all gathered to hear Alliance of Technology and Women's own Carol LeMaster talk about her experiences in China while participating in the 2nd Annual Women's Symposium & Study Program with Chinese Urban, University and Rural Women.
