Christopher Gaffney is one of the three co-founders of Great Hill Partners. As a Managing Partner, he is responsible for transaction origination as well as the general management and investment policy of Great Hill Partners.

Chris's experience speaks for itself: his portfolio companies have completed more than 150 acquisitions and over $2 billion of debt and equity financing.

Chris's investing experience includes companies in industries serving publishing and information, IT and online services, telecommunications, education, business services and broadcasting. Chris serves as a director for a diverse set of portfolio companies, including High-Tech Institute Holdings, Inc., IGN Entertainment, Inc., Incentra Solutions, Inc., Haights Cross Communications, Inc., and Medical World Communications, Inc. Chris has participated in the private equity business since 1986, serving as an Associate, Principal and General Partner for Media/Communications Partners, the predecessor firm to GHP. Previously, Chris was a commercial lending officer for the First National Bank of Boston in the specialized media lending unit.

Chris has served on the Board of Directors of 24 other companies spanning radio, television, security monitoring, IT services, transaction processing, Internet service provision, operator services, and cable/telephony.
