The Business Development Manager has full responsibility for all business development activities within the assigned area. The Business Development Manager should possess accomplished sales management, leadership and recruiting skills, sound business acumen and a passion to teach and mentor subordinates to fully develop the skills needed to produce desired results. The position also requires a solid understanding of the development of training curriculum as well as strong presentation/facilitation skills. The Business Development Manager will become a member of the Business Development management team.
As a key member of the Business Development management team, the Area Business Development Manager is expected to participate in and provide critical feedback into the direction, forecasting and execution activities in the designated Area with a specific emphasis on revenue growth and development and revenue quality management. This will be accomplished by identifying new business opportunities, partnerships and market segments which align with the core competencies and strategic vision in the designated Area and executing on the strategies, business plans and activities outlined by the Director of Business Development. Lastly, this position is under the new 2008 Compensation plan and shall receive monthly compensation based on results within all quota areas. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Creating prospect list for your Area Business Development team Developing new account activities within the managed, health and behavioral care providers industry Develop new Rid Source opportunities Develop new corporate account activity within Area Develop new account activity for Discount Cab Pre-Paid Cards Daily reporting on recruitment efforts Weekly reporting on retainment efforts Forecasting Area business development revenue within “Buckets” Lease Sales Managed, Health and Behavioral Health Providers Accounts Ride Source Corporate Accounts Pre Paid Cards Cab Call Bar Buttons New Driver Recruitment Active Driver Retainment Manage and coordinate all contractor recruiting, orientation, contracting and development efforts as well as all passenger sales and marketing activities. Define, implement and enforce effective quotas that meet the company’s growth and business development objectives. Utilize effective tracking and statistical measures to determine the most cost effective business development processes and methods. Track and analyze the cost of each step in the business development process and establish activity plans, sourcing and prospecting requirements that meet established revenue and growth objectives. Evaluate and redesign orientation and training curriculum as needed to ensure success. Evolve training and development curriculum to cover areas such as “Becoming an Owner Operator”, “Building Your Small Business”, “Record Keeping”, “Map Reading”, “How to Make Money” and other areas that will help our contractors become more successful. Ensure curriculum is in synch with related departments such as the Transportation Services Center, Risk Management, Contract Compliance, Accounting and Fleet Services departments. Work with the Area Manager and Director of Business Development to define strategy, methodology, goals and objectives consistent with the vision and direction of the company. Complete and maintain all required logs, files, reports, statistical analysis and records within required deadlines. Maintain and foster a professional image and culture consistent with the values and Core Principles of the company. Solicit, evaluate and report on feedback and recommendations from all customer groups. Most importantly use continuous improvement techniques to ensure we are consistently responding to and acting upon beneficial recommendations. Respond to and act upon other duties and assignments as required. Skills / Requirements
Candidates will have a Bachelors degree in Business Management or 5 years of experience in a job related field.
General understanding of the cab business with specific knowledge of recruiting, training, development and sales management. Demonstrated skills and experience with sales and territory organization as well as quota and commission development and management. Working knowledge of leasing office procedures and specific activities relating to contractor interaction and performance. Ability to negotiate and manage contractual agreements. Ability to learn, understand and apply Independent Contractor guidelines. Must possess strong leadership skills as well as the ability to motivate, mentor and develop subordinates. Good organizational skills. Ability to work effectively in a fast paced environment. 3 to 5 years of training and/or experience in facilitation. The ability to work effectively with a wide range of internal and external personnel. Ability to work independently and self motivate. SUPERSIVORY RESPONSIBILITIES: The Business Development Manager has direct supervisory responsibility for all recruiters, facilitators and business development personnel within the assigned area. Responsible to manage and direct the business development team to ensure all area business development goals and objectives are met. QUALIFICATIONS: Profit and Loss experience preferred. Sales and Marketing: Effective sales and marketing skills with demonstrated experience. Leadership: Demonstrated ability to lead people and get results through others. Planning: Ability to think ahead, analyze and plan in a pro-active manner. Customer Service: Demonstrated ability to understand and deliver superior customer service. Recruiting, Training and Development: Demonstrated experience in the development and execution of sound recruiting, training and career development programs. Computer Proficiency: Must be fluent in the Microsoft Office suite of products with above average competence in the use of Power Point, Excel and CRM applications. Complete command of the English language is required. Bilingual in Spanish preferred.
