GENERAL POSITION SUMMARY:
The Child & Family Team Leader is responsible for supervising the clinical services provided by the Child & Family Team. Position provides direct counseling services to clients, and facilitates groups as needed. ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: • Participates in the selection process for new staff, provides supervision and evaluation of staff members, and facilitates coaching and supervision sessions. • Assists in staff training and development programs, in addition to participating in orientation for new employees. • Reviews clinical record keeping activities of staff, ensures records are accurate and processed timely. • Receives client cases, conducts assessments and evaluates treatment needs. • Provides direct care and treatment services based on client needs, such as Individual Therapy or Group Therapy. • Conducts internal audits, and ensures policies/procedures are properly followed. • Assists in the assignment of clients to appropriate staff and treatment programs. • Maintains clinical records in accordance with agency licensing regulations. • Prepares required reports for management, such as CPS referrals, Performance Audits and Critical Incident Reports. • Prepares necessary materials to work with special projects as assigned. • Utilizes the consultation and collaborative team processes in providing coordination of care for clients, and to improve operational processes in the agency. • Acts as a representative for referral sources, community resources, and other organizations/ agencies as needed. • Manages all services within the program areas assigned in accordance with State licensing regulations, AzCA policies and procedures, certification standards, contractual agreements and any other applicable regulatory requirements. • Regularly monitors progress of program to assure they are meeting expected standards of quality and quantity, agency policies and procedures, contractual agreements, certification requirements and any other regulatory requirements. • Assures accurate record keeping in accordance with regulatory, contractual and agency requirements. • Adheres to ethical code of social work/ standards in the provision of services. • Performs other duties as assigned, which are consistent with the general responsibilities of the position. Skills / Requirements
REQUIRED COMPETENCIES:
Demonstrates the knowledge and application of human development and family life cycle in children and families. Competency in administrative, management and supervisory tasks. Knowledge of Arizona Vision and Principles for children’s behavioral health. Knowledge of Managed Care Systems and Provider Networks. Knowledge of community resources. Must be organized and able to work in a diverse, multi-cultural environment. Must be able to participate as a team member, utilize supervision and able to accept peer support in the treatment planning process. Effective written, oral and interpersonal communication skills. Must be organized with the ability to take direction, prioritize tasks, multi-task, and work independently. Must have ability to maintain confidentiality, and exhibit mature judgment and emotional stability. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Must be 21 years of age (licensing requirement). Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work or related field of study from an accredited college or university. Minimum 3 years experience working in the behavioral health field with clinical services. Possess a valid Arizona driver’s license and be insurable under the agency’s automobile policy. Must be computer literate with knowledge of Outlook and Microsoft Office programs (i.e. Word, Excel). Must be able to provide own transportation to and from clients’ homes and/or other relevant organizations/agencies. OTHER REQUIREMENTS: Must be able to provide DPS fingerprint clearance. Must be able to meet training and agency compliance requirements for the position. Mental Requirements • Ability to effectively communicate in the English language. • Ability to interact well with various levels of staff, consumers, and with guests of AzCA. • Ability to read, comprehend and interpret complex information. Physical Requirements • Office environment with frequent sitting, standing, writing and computer usage. • Must be able to climb stairs, with frequent standing and moving throughout facility or in the alternative, perform these physical requirements with or without reasonable accommodations. • Frequent to moderate physical effort (lift/carry up to 25 lbs.). • Moderate reaching, bending, stooping, kneeling or crouching.
