PURPOSE OF POSITION:
To supervise the staff and coordinate the programs of a Director of Career Services. SUPERVISION RECEIVED: Directly supervised by the Rehabilitation Services Director. SUPERVISION EXERCISED: Direct supervision of Career Advisors, Employment Specialists and Employment Liaison. DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: Unless otherwise specified, all duties and responsibilities listed below are considered essential. General: 1. Hires, trains and evaluates staff in the Rehabilitation Services Unit 2. Directs and supervises staff using a “team process” in the provision of services. 3. Manages relationships with referral sources for the unit. 4. Participates on the Workforce Development Management Team. 5. Coordinates and oversees the referral process for the unit. 6. Assists with recruitment and public relations activities. 7. Coordinates the compiling of data for statistical purposes and creation of reports as required. 8. Submits monthly reports to the Rehabilitation Services Director. 9. Coordinates and oversees the billing of services rendered by the unit. 10. Ensures compliance with grants, contracts and accreditation. 11. Develops and maintains program budgets. 12. Other interrelated duties as required. Skills / Requirements
QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor’s degree in Rehabilitation or related field required, Master’s in Rehabilitation Counseling with CRC preferred. Knowledge and experience with persons with a disability and vocational rehabilitation programs a must. 1-3 Years supervisory experience required. Excellent verbal and written communication skills critical. CARF experience preferred. SPECIAL KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS: A thorough knowledge of community resources available to persons with barriers to employment, due to disability, is necessary. Considerable knowledge of human development, motivation, personality, learning, individual differences, adaptation, disabilities and social interaction. Supervisory and management skills required. Should have considerable knowledge of community organizations and related governmental agencies. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: General physical abilities to perform the clerical, computer, managerial and supervisory functions of the job. TRAINING & DEVELOPMENT REQUIREMENTS & OPPORTUNITIES: Is required to attend the Agency’s general orientation.
